Trying To Be More Organised

I thought I would share a few of my organisation tips. I am very new to the whole organising thing, but hopefully I can only get better. There is so much still to learn and I'm sure I'm not teaching you anything you don't know, but you never know...maybe I will inspire someone!

Have you heard of Flylady? Her number one tip is to do cleaning/organising in 15 minute bursts. Set a timer if you want. Only look at tasks as small ones not as a whole room. Eg Look at one shelf of your fridge. Take all items from the shelf and wipe over. Throw out old items. Check all use by dates. Put good items back. Just one clean shelf will make you feel better. Then go off and do something more exciting! Have a cuppa or browse the internet. When you get another spare moment move onto another shelf. Don't look at whole fridge and freak out at the huge task. Break it up!

As for the pantry, all I have to say is meal plan! Look at what is in there and use as much as you can to make some meals. Throw out the stuff you aren't going to eat. Throw out stuff that is out of date.
Over time I have bought lots of clear stackable Decor containers (can't afford Tupperware). Each container is labelled with my Dymo labeller. Makes it much easier to find things. All containers are then in sections ie. Pasta, Rice, Lasagne Sheets etc on one shelf. Other items are neatly stacked with Flours and Sugars and Baking goods together etc.
It looks so much nicer and I can easily find what I am looking for rather than having crap randomly thrown in.
